This is a very nice home, with a lot of advantages for Shomer-Shabbat families, as advertised by Menachem. The area is beautiful, the nearby stores indicated by Menachem have an amazing supply of kosher food, the existence of an Eiruv and the proximity of the shuls were very helpful to us.
Some things that could be improved:
1. The code for unlocking the door that was provided before our arrival was not enough. A detailed explanation of how this code is entered and what you need to do before and after entering the code, is a must. Also, how the door is locked when leaving the house.
2. In the smaller bathroom, the one with the Jacouzzi, the shower does not work.
3. In the walkway from the driveway to the house some of the bricks/stones are broken or loose, causing a safety hazard.
4. We did not find the washing machine that was mentioned in the listing.
5. Regarding the shuls, the Ashkenaz minyan on Shabbat during the summer months is very hard to find as it is behind a private home with no sign. It would be helpful if a street address were provided. For weekdays during the summer there is a large Ashkenaz shul 2 miles away in Woodridge, the Ohavei Shalom Synagogue.
5. The Chassidishe shul in Mountain Dale that is called the Mountain Acres Shul is fine for weekday services but to get there on Shabbat requires walking on the right side of a high-speed road with no sidewalk, which could be quite dangerous, especially for families with small children.
